In 2018 this project received an “Excellence in Construction” EAGLE Award by the Associated Builders and Contractors Carolinas chapter in the Historical Renovation Category. Description: This project consists of the renovation of the historic Columbia Central Station Fire House in the heart of the Vista for use as retail, restaurant and office space. The 2-story, 20,800 Sq Ft structure received a complete update of all building services and utilities, mechanical and electrical systems, fire protection, fire alarm and passenger elevator. Structural components were selectively upgraded and a roof top deck was added. The building exterior was maintained close to the original structure with minor updates to doors and storefront systems adapted for ADA requirements. Site improvements included storm drainage, adaptive patio paving, landscaping, lighting and decorative fence.
